Tara, Kimberly, and Liz have known each other for 20 years. Their friendship and professional respect for each other is one reason that Leaderally came to be. With a combined 60 years of experience leading and developing new educators as well as creating and implementing dozens of successful leadership courses. Leaderally is guided by and dedicated to the memory of Ali Laputka. She was an inspiring and creative woman, wife, friend, who passed away in October 2016.
Tara began her career in education teaching literacy to students with exceptional needs. She has since spent years building strong relationships with educators and administrators at school districts throughout the country. At her former company, she led a team that implemented literacy programs into school districts that serve at-risk students, struggling readers as well as many struggling new teachers. Tara is passionate about and known for delivering excellent customer experiences and for helping teachers reach their potential in delivering quality education to their students. In addition to her professional development experience, she was also the director of a blended model private school that served students throughout the United States. She is currently on a team at Boston Children’s Hospital offering pyscho-educational evaluations to young students as part of a research project on early dyslexia screening. Tara has a Bachelor of Science in Communication Disorders from Boston University and a Masters of Education from Lesley University. Tara lives in the Boston area with her husband, Mike, and her three brilliant children.
Learning science has fascinated Kimberly since opening a school for dolls when she was 7. She says, “It was apparent that they wanted to learn but just couldn’t seem to grasp the meaning.” This experience led her to a career developing language processing skills for real live students for almost 25 years. The “Ah Ha” moment students have when they finally learn a new skill or understand a new concept is a driving force behind Kimberly’s passion and enthusiasm. Having taught professional development workshops for years, and feeling frustrated by not creating enough “Ah Ha” moments for teachers, Kimberly decided to start teaching the foundational skills educators need to be successful — communication, management and strategy. Together with her co-founders, she embraces the challenge of turning boring old professional development into meaningful learning experiences for all education professionals. Kimberly has a Bachelor of Arts from Northwestern College and a Master of Arts in Educational Leadership from American University. Kimberly lives in Washington D.C. and has three darling children.
Liz has a passion for education and leadership development. Her career in education provided her opportunities to work with hundreds of educators and administrators. She led countless workshops and conference presentations focused on reading, comprehension, and math. She also spent hours in classrooms supporting the integration of language, literacy and behavior strategies with teachers and students of all ability levels. Her energy and creativity have always been drawn to develop and lead large teams of education leaders as together we look to make a bigger impact on the lives of students. Liz has developed leadership training programs for hundreds of educators working in schools and learning centers all over the world. These days you’ll find her writing the Warm Up, regular blogs, and developing new workshops and leadership courses. She also gets to spend time behind the mic narrating courses for the Leaderally Learning Platform as well as talking to some of the smartest educators and thought leaders from all across the country. Liz graduated from Miami University. She’s married to a smart guy named Noah and has three kids and a dog. They all live in Morristown, NJ.
